Vivienne, A DnD Player
One of the five things that have been keeping me sane lately is DnD! I get to play in multiple games, and I'm running two of my own. I just joined a new role playing game (rpg) that's based on a show and uses a different system than DnD. For this character, I decided that he needed an Irish accent....but then I realized I don't know how to speak with an Irish accent...I can do American or British English. But that didn't stop me. I did some research on youtube and listened to people talk about how to master the different sounds of a basic Irish accent, and practiced. (Oh, and watched the Boondock Saints movie for fun.)
While I'm not super confident with my new accent, I'm excited to have a new thing to work on. This and all of the games I'm in make not being able to see my friends in person a little easier to bear. I've really been enjoying the way I've been able to help develop the plot and apparently throw us in a new direction, even though this direction terrifies my little drow sorcerer....Have I mentioned I love DnD? haha! My drow sorcerer is the group's (in and out of game) question-asker and note-taker. He askes all kinds of questions even I hadn't thought of till the moment I ask. It's so entertaining to see how characters develop as you play them. Yay improv!
